On Jan, 28th, held by Gangwon-do government, 2019 Blockchain Pyeongchang Forum kicked off in the venue of Winter Olympic Games Pyeongchang in Korea. Under the theme of “Intellectualize Real Economy, Encounter the Future of Blockchain”, governmental officials, Blockchain experts and relevant counterparts from China, Russia, Korea, England, Australia and other countries participated in this forum. As one of few Blockchain forums taking city as starting point, the application of Blockchian is an eye-catching topic. Founder of Paralism, Shi Xingguo was invited to this forum and participated in the round talk of “ Building Smart City”.
Mr. Shi stated that as the potential underlying infrastructure for the next generation of the Internet, Blockchain will efficiently match the demand and the supply between different people, mobilize and reallocate resources, maximize the value of every individual and optimize our city lives. In addition, Blockchain becomes a connection maker between people and machine and build a underlying infrastructure for Smart City.
He also pointed that the infrastructure of current Blockchain is not strong enough to support the vision of Smart City, no matter Ethereum or EOS. At present, most application scenarios concentrates on game and gambling. Its performance is far from centralized applications and there is no value interconnectivity between people and machine. On this basis, Mr. Shi proposed a technical solution which uses parallel blockchain technology to solve the problems including scalability, decentralization, cross-chain interconnection etc. He also elaborated that how to achieve the coexistence of unlimited subchains, dynamic sharding of individual subchain and the interconnection between different chains. With the support of parallel blockchain technology, there will be possibilities for us to further discuss the emergence of digital economy and Smart City.
